What exactly is cabinet refacing?

We keep your existing cabinet boxes and replace the doors and drawer fronts. Then we cover the frames and exposed sides with matching veneer and add new hardware. It looks like new cabinetry without tearing anything out.

How do I know if my cabinets can be refaced?

If the boxes are structurally sound (no water damage, sagging or rot), they're almost always a good fit. We check this for you at the free consultation.

Should I reface or go custom?

If you like your layout and your cabinet boxes are solid, refacing gets you a new kitchen faster and for less. If the layout doesn't work for you or the cabinets are damaged, a custom kitchen is the better investment. We'll give you an honest recommendation at your consultation.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the size of the kitchen, the door style and the upgrades you choose. Refacing usually runs well under the cost of new cabinets. You'll get an exact written price at your consultation, with no guesswork.

How long does a custom kitchen take?

Custom cabinets are built to order, so plan on several weeks from final design to installation. We'll give you a timeline along with your quote.

Can I use my kitchen during the job?

With refacing, mostly yes. Your counters, sink and appliances stay where they are, so most homeowners keep using their kitchen while we work. A custom kitchen involves removing the old cabinets, so the kitchen is out of service during the install.

Does my co-op or condo need to approve it?

Many buildings want to know about any contractor work, and refacing is usually simple to get approved because there's no plumbing, electrical or demolition. We give your management office whatever paperwork it asks for.

Can I change my layout?

Refacing keeps your layout, though we can often add or swap individual cabinets and add pull-out storage. If you want a truly new layout, that's what our custom kitchens are for, and we can quote both options at your consultation.

Which areas do you serve?

All five boroughs: Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island.
